where to focus the jamboree

Gerry here:
This will be my 10th jamboree and my girlfriends 3rd and we were wondering how people feel about getting back to the park from the civic center. For a year or two the jam was moved from the city park, where it's always been, to the Richfield civics center, I guess it's called, now back to the park last year. My thoughts are that the park has a back home feel about it, the center was always warm, dry and made it nice for exhibitors. The problem I saw with the center was it was hard to stage rides out of and could be a bit chaotic and confusing. Anybody have an opinion?

Gerry,
You are well ahead of me in terms of the number of jamborees. This year will be my third. My first year, they used the Civic Center or events center (I'm not sure of the correct dersignation). Then last year, everything was shifted to the park. I liked the facilities at the Civic Center and I suspect in foul weather, it would be appreciated. However, there seemed to be some obvous but minor logistics issues with people first going to the Civic Center for breakfast and then riding to and regrouping at the park for the rides.
Personally, I'm comfortable either way. Whichever works best for the majority of the attendees and the many folks who work to put on the jamboree.
Looking forward to Richfield in September

2009 was my 9th year at the Jamboree, and I have liked meeting at the park, I ride a machine that does not use a key, and after having 3 of my wheelers stolen (not at the Jamboree), I am a little nervous leaving my ride where I can't see it.
The dinners at the park were more of a party, and at the civic plaza there was not enough room for everyone, some ate in adjacent rooms away from everyone else. Over all I think that at the park it was more convienent to visit the vendors, after riding I only made it back to the civic center one night and that was because of the GPS training.
But where ever the hold the prerides I will be there. It is a blast to be a part of the Jamboree.
As a side note someone ought to get with Guiness and let them know that ATC's were the original ATV and should have been counted in the record attempt!!! (still a little butt hurt about that)

The wife and I will be attending our 8th Jamboree this year (love that free year). After experiencing both the gatherings at the park and at the College, we were part of the group that advocated moving back to the park. I realize that we are at the mercy of the weather at the park, but aren't we all wheeler riders. Who really cares what the weather is like. Don't you ride no matter what the weather is? We do... The weather at the park has never bothered us. Just wear your foul weather gear that you would wear out riding.
We get more vendors at the park and it just seems to be more our element.
Can't wait until September.
